Noblesville, Indiana's Verizon Wireless Music Center, A Live Nation Venue, has joined the green revolution and is excited to make their venue an increasingly environmentally friendly place. To that end, they've implemented several greening programs throughout the venue, including transitioning all applicable backstage lighting to CFL's, creating effective recycling programs in both the front of house and backstage areas, and setting up several artist-related backstage initiatives such as water stations to promote reusable water bottles and installing low-flow shower heads. Whenever possible, they utilize eco-friendly cleaning supplies, detergents, hand soaps, and toiletries. They also donate surplus catering food through a partnership with Rock & Wrap It Up at select shows, and implement late-night clean up efforts by dispatching teams of people charged with collecting recyclables and properly disposing of other trash created by any event.
Beginning with the 2010 season, Verizon Wireless Music Center will join many other stadiums, arenas and theatres to participate in Energy Star’s entertainment and hospitality program to improve energy performance.
