The AmericanAirlines Arena, Miami’s top sports and entertainment venue, was one of the first two arenas in the country to be awarded LEED Certification for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance by the U.S. Green Building Council in April 2009. As the arena enters its second decade, it continues to be recognized as a model venue and a cutting-edge industry innovator.  Achieving LEED certification is a great affirmation of the AmericanAirlines Arena’s commitment to energy conservation and environmentally responsible operations.

Green building aspects include green roofing materials, reduced energy consumption, water-efficient landscaping, and several other notable features.
